Ruben Gomez (singer)

Ruben Gomez (b. 25 April 1974, Brooklyn, New York) is a singer.

He debuted in a McDonalds commercial at the age of six. In 1987 he joined the band Menudo. He recorded 9 albums with them. He also appeared in musicals and Venezuelan soap operas. In 1989 the hit release "No Es Una Ilusion" which was recorded when he was 9 years old was release on McGillis Records. The next solo release was "Move" which was a miami styled Dance trax also on McGillis Records.

In 1997 he released his self-titled debut album. In 2000 he had a hit song, Siempre MaƱana (Tomorrow Forever). Another hit was the song Baila Conmigo.

In 2005, Gomez reunited with other former members of Menudo in Brazil for a Reunion tour. They called themselves Menudo: La Reunion. The tour never happened, but a single was recorded, with 'Ruben' singing the lead vocals.

Currenly, Gomez is concentrating on his solo career, splitting his time between New York and Brazil.

As of 2006, 'Ruben' has reunited with former Menudo: La Reunion member 'Anthony Gallindo' and are currently touring thru Brazil as the duo Blacksheep. They have grown a large fan base throughout Latin America.
