Ruardean

Ruardean is a village in the Forest of Dean, also consisting of Ruardean Hill and Ruardean Woodside. It has previously contained a medieval castle, since destroyed, near to the present site of the town's church. There are many national crime stories from here, cases documented at the old bailey etc, the most famous being from 17th January 1876 when there was a nasty fight and Joseph Bidmead stabbed 4 men in the Rose and Hand pub and the one man died.
