The abbreviation RTO could refer to:

  • Rejected takeoff - a situation where an airplane begins its takeoff run but aborts it for various reasons.
  • Regional Transport Office - a term commonly used in india. This is a place where vehicles are registered and tax for vehicles are collected. The licence plate number or vehicle registration number is issued by the district-level Regional Transport Office (RTO) of respective states - the main authority on road matters.
  • Recovery Time Objective - a Disaster Recovery concept in Information Technologies. The RTO is determined based on the acceptable down time in case of a disruption of operations. It indicates the latest point in time at which the business operations must resume after disaster.
  • Request Timed Out- Occurs in Pinging another nod when a packet is dropped.
  • Radio Telephone Operator - a term used in the United States Army to designate a soldier carrying a radio such as the PRC-25.
