RSA Battle House Tower

RSA Battle House Tower Located in Mobile, Alabama, is Alabama's tallest building. The spire, completed on Saturday, September 16, 2006, with the expertise and planning of Ralph Arthur Anderson, brought the building to its finished height of 745 feet (227 m).[1] This building is set to open in the second quarter of 2006, though construction will not be completed until early 2007. When finished, the building wiill be the tallest on the Gulf Coast outside of Houston[2].
The building is owned by the Retirement System of Alabama (RSA). This building replaces the Wachovia Building in Birmingham as the tallest building in Alabama. The tower consists of 25 office floors, 3 lobby floors, 4 hotel floors, and one service floor, together with 20 elevators and 21,000-square foot (1951 m²) column-free floorplates. Its completed, lighted crown will be visible from 40 miles away along Mobile Bay on a clear night.
During construction, 5 hurricanes hit near Mobile causing delays in the construction of this building: Hurricane Frances and Hurricane Ivan in 2004, plus Hurricane Cindy, Hurricane Dennis, and Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
