[edit] Summary
Richard Sackville, 3rd Earl of Dorset, by William Larkin, 1613.
Sir Roy Strong said this "portrait can lay claim to being perhaps the most spectacular costume piece of the age" (FMR #61, April 1993). Strong suggests the clothing was worn for the 1613 wedding of James I, King of England's daughter Elizabeth of Bohemia.
