[edit] Bournemouth, Southampton and The Zoo
Nearby? 30 miles and more, with the New Forest between them. The Zoo was known in the 1950s - cf Gervase Hughes. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Tim riley (talk • contribs) 17:58, 18 March 2007 (UTC).
Thanks, Tim. Here in the U.S., 30 miles is considered "nearby", but I know that is not necessarily the case in England, so I have deleted the word. Also, it may have been known that The Zoo existed, but the first handwritten score was not available until, I think, 1971 (and the first attractively printed score, not until the early 80s). But, I have removed "recently rediscovered". There is no reason for me to put controversial language in the bio, so thanks for pointing it out. Thanks for another great article! -- Ssilvers 18:39, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
- A dear friend, now dead, from NYC always complained when doing business in the UK that to us 200 years was a short time and 200 miles a long way. Tim riley 19:26, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
