Roystead railway station, Melbourne

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Roystead Railway Station was a station on the Outer Circle line, in Melbourne. It was opened in 1900 as Stanley, and was changed twice, to Balwyn, and then to Roystead, the name of a white, victorian style house nearby, which is now used by Camberwell Grammar School, a private school in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Much of the line was in a deep cutting, with red brick brick and green painted iron bridges. It was closed in 1927, along with the northern part of the line.
