Roycemore School

Roycemore School is a privately funded co-ed college preparatory school located in Evanston, Illinois for grades junior kindergarten through grade 12 of high school. It is non-sectarian and has an average student population of 250 students.

Located near the campus of Northwestern University, it has a reciprocal relationship with that university. Students are permitted to attend classes at Northwestern if they have completed the most advanced classes within a department at Roycemore and have received recommendations from the department and the Upper School Division Head. This program is known as the Northwestern Option.

Roycemore School was founded in 1915 as an all-girls school; it became co-ed in 1962. Roycemore has a 100% college placement record.

Its school mascot is the griffin and the school colors are blue and gold.

Roycemore's high school, or Upper School as Roycemore calls it, spans grades 9-12 and it has an average student population of 75. Current Upper School Division Head is John Novick, Jr., who manages both the Upper School and Middle School divisions, with Assistant Head Sara Dreiling.

In the academic year 2003-2004 Roycemore's varsity scholastic bowl team came second in the regional competition losing to the The Latin School of Chicago.

In the academic year 2004-2005 Roycemore's varsity scholastic bowl team won the regional championship, and went on to receive second place at the sectional competition. It is important to note that Roycemore had as many wins as first place Latin School, but had scored less points overall, and therefore came in second. Roycemore beat the Latin School of Chicago in the competition. Latin went on to win the State Championship.

Roycemore's junior high school, or Middle School as Roycemore calls it, spans grades 5-8 and it has an average student population of 75. Current Middle School principal is John Novick, while the assistant principal is Sara Dreiling.

Roycemore's Elementary school, or Lower School as Roycemore calls it, spans grades JK-4 and it has an average student population of 70. Current Lower School principal is Melinda Orzoff.
