Roy Paul (born 18 April 1920 in Ton Pentre, Wales, died 2002) was a footballer who played in defence for Manchester City. He also represented the Welsh national team over 30 times and is regarded as one of Wales' best ever players.

In 1955 he captained Manchester City to the FA Cup final where they were unfortunate to lose after Jimmy Meadows was taken off injured. He vowed to take his team to Wembley again, and the following year he lifted the FA Cup trophy. The final of that year was remembered for German goalkeeper Bert Trautmann breaking his neck but carrying on playing. Roy Paul is remembered as one of Manchester City's best ever captains along with Tony Book and Andy Morrison.

Paul ended his career at Garw Athletic after spells at Worcester and Brecon Corinthians.[1]
