[edit] Controversy
Currently the Roxbury School District Board of Education requires that all students stand while the pledge of allegance is being recited before morning announcements, possibly a violation of the Lipp vs. Morris, 579 F.2d 834 (3rd Cir. 1978). In addition, the school regularly makes use of controversial 'Moments of Silence', a way to bypass the prohibition of prayer in school, also a possible violation of a court ruling disallowing them (May v. Cooperman, 780 F.2d 240 (3rd Cir. 1985) and Karcher v. May, 484 U.S. 72 (1987))
