Rowan Trollope

Rowan Trollope, born Rowan Mehail Trollope in Toronto, Canada, is the Vice President of Consumer Engineering at Symantec Corp where he leverages more than 15 years of experience to oversee engineering and product development and for the company's worldwide consumer products. In this role, Trollope manages a team of engineers, and research and development staff that identifies and develops Symantec's industry-leading security solutions, including Norton Internet Security and Norton Anti Virus, as well as the upcoming Norton Genesis.
Previously, Trollope served as vice president of Security Management Products at Symantec where he was responsible for key enterprise security solutions, including Symantec Security Information Manager and Symantec Enterprise Security Manager. Trollope also served as vice president of research and development for Symantec consumer products, leading the Norton brand to market leadership in Internet security. He joined Symantec in 1991 and has held senior engineering, quality assurance, support and general management positions at the business level. Trollope holds patents in computer security and operating systems maintenance."
Rowan is very active in the software industry, having co-founded a software company, Software Shelf Inc, where he now serves on the Board. Rowan also serves on the Advisory board for Mitsui Venture Partners. He is an active member of the IEEE.
Rowan is also an artist, and paints in oil on canvas. He has been a partner and owner of City Gallery in Hollywood since 2004. His paintings have been recently been on display at the More Underground Than Underground show held in 2006 in Los Angeles.
Rowan is regularly cited as an expert of consumer products and consumer security. He maintains a personal blog, as well as contributing to the Norton Protection Blog.
Rowan lives in Los Angeles, CA with his wife and son.
