The cultivar Rotundifolia was listed by Mottet in Nicholson & Mottet, Dict. Prat. Hort. 5: 383, 1898, as U. campestris var. rotundifolia Hort. Described as having leaves rounded, oval or suborbicular. Considered "possibly U. carpinifolia" (: minor) by Green (1964).
