Roth Army

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"The David Lee Roth Army" is a website dedicated to the solo career of rock singer David Lee Roth, and the "classic" era of the band where he acquired his fame and notoriety: Van Halen. His tenure in Van Halen ran from 1974 to 1985, and ended when Roth departed from the band, and was later replaced by Sammy Hagar. The break-up, and the resulting feuding (which filtered down into the fan base), was acrimonious and has led to numerous rumors and intrigues throughout the years, including endless speculations regarding a possible reunion --with Roth returning on lead vocals.

The Roth Army features general discussions regarding Roth's current tours, an arcade, and a substantial collection of classic interviews with band members. The Roth Army, as it is most commonly referred to as, differs from most message boards because has a large and active community of over 3,600 contributing posters and its forums span the gamut of current classic Van Halen related events, general music and topical discussions, as well as politics and current events. There is a general "hands-off" policy regarding member discussions and, as a result, there is little in the way of bannings or censorship that is often associated with other comparable message boards. The current incarnation of the Roth Army was reborn in March of 2003 by the site's owner and "member number-one," Sarge, who is currently an active duty U.S. Army officer and avid David Lee Roth "belligerent enthusiast."
