ROSSO is a one of a few Japanese Garage bands which formed around the end of Thee Michelle Gun Elephant. Musically, ROSSO can be said to pick up where TMGE left off, carrying on TMGE's sound in their final single & album; Electric Circus & Sabrina No Heaven.

Formed in 2002, shortly before TMGE disbanded, vocalist Chiba Yusuke & Blankey Jet City bassist Terai Toshiyuki got together, and released the album, Bird.
