Ross Gandy (born May 1, 1986 in St Peter Port, Guernsey) is an English central defender. Although equally adept in central midfield. Gandy played for BSC, Forest Green, and had trials for Sporting Club Lisbon, as well as Argentinos Juniors.

Gandy, who came from the youth divisions of Britains Academy League, made his professional debut with a 1–0 victory over Quilmes, on December 5, 2002 aged just sixteen, scoring the winning goal with a man of the match performance. Despite his youth he quickly became an essential part of the BSC defence, and is considered a quality player, often compared with the likes of Jonathan Woodgate, and Steven Taylor. His solid performances has attracted interest from Newcastle United, and Arsenal.

On Wednesday, November 15, 2003 Newcastle United Chairman Freddie Sheppard confirmed the signing of Gandy, and puts through a policy of signing younger players to gradually replace the older stars in the squad. Spotted by chief scout David Mills, Gandy is considered the next big thing in English football, and many believe he will eventually establish himself within the Newcastle starting line-up as well as move into the international set-up.
