Roshanara Begum

Roshanara Begum was the second daughter of the Mughal Ruler Shah Jahan and his wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
Born in the year 1617. Dara Shikoh was Shah Jahan's eldest son and Aurangzeb was the youngest. Roshanara sided with Aurangzeb during the war of succession .It is said she was promoted as the head of harem ,after 'Shah Jahan' death ,instead of 'Jahanara Begum'. Her tomb surrounded by a vast garden (Roshanara Bagh) is in north Delhi next to Kamala Nagar and Grand Trunk (GT) Road.
