Rosenallis
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Rosenallis (Ros Fhionnghlaise in Irish) is a village in north County Laois, Republic of Ireland, situated in the foothills of the Slieve Bloom Mountains on the R422 Mountmellick to Birr road. The name comes from the Irish, which roughly translated means 'Wood of the blackened stream'. Each year "The Festival of the Mountain" is held in June or July in the nearby Slieve Blooms. From the festival, amongst other acolades, the strongest woman and man are decided.
