[edit] Role in the series

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Ramírez is the best friend of main character Lisani Diego (Shackera Samuels). In the first season, they meet expatriate Steve Castillo, who unbeknownst to them is Lisani's father. After Lisani finds this out Rosanna is there to comfort her distraught friend and also vows to no longer associate with Steve (she had been planning to go out with him).

[edit] Season 2

A great deal more is learnt about Rosanna is the second season.

She had already been revealed to be the fun, flirty character hinted at in Season 1, but underneath that exterior lies a dark secret: she had had an incestuous relationship with an uncle when she was just a child. This secret is hinted at in flashbacks represented as nightmares, in which she dreams that her attacker is stalking and molesting her.

In a later episode, when she and Lisani are doing homework at a male friend's house, Lisani leaves to get something and Rosanna is left alone with the friend in question, who starts putting the moves on her. When she attempts to resist him she is forcibly raped and then thrown out of the house. She tearfully confesses to older sister Vanessa, but refuses to talk to her parents, who are upset with her for her poor grades and mischief. Instead, she leaves home determined to exact revenge on her molester.

Upon arriving in Corozal, her family's previous home she finds that her molester died a few years ago. Unbeknownst to Rosanna however, Vanessa has alerted her parents to the situation and they leave for Corozal to escort her home and begin to remedy matters. Near the end of the season Rosanna is shown identifying her attacker to police and seeking help from the Domestic Violence Unit and Women's Departments respectively.

[edit] Family

Rosanna lives with older sister Vanessa and parents Ramon and Agnes somewhere in Belize City, though the family has relatives in the Corozal District and previously lived there.
