Ronnie is a song by Metallica on their 1996 album Load. According to James Hetfield, the lyrics are based on a school shooting in 1995 in the state of Washington. The shooter was Ron Brown (referred to as Ronnie Long or "Ronnie Frown" in the lyrics). [1]
This song was originally titled "Dusty" [[2]].
The song has never been played live in full, only the first minute (minus lyrics) before launching into a set/encore during gigs in 1996/97.
