Ronkonkoma (LIRR station)

Ronkonkoma Station is a major railroad station and transportation hub along the Main branch of the Long Island Rail Road. Officially, it is located on Lakeland Street or Railroad Avenue North at the intersection of Hawkins Avenue, but in reality it has parking facilities and other amenities that are extended far beyond it's given location. Since 1987, it has served as the eastern terminus of the electrification of the main branch, however stations east of Ronkonkoma have been modified for future electrification.

As a major transportation hub, the station also serves Suffolk County Transit bus routes S57, S59, 6A, 7A, not to mention local taxi services. Shuttle buses are also provided to take commuters and travelers to and from Long Island MacArthur Airport. The Ronkonkoma Yard is also located east of the station.

A parking garage north of the station was built on what was once a freight spur.

There is free parking in the lots adjacent to the tracks on the north and south side.
