Ron Westray

Ronald Kenneth Westray, Jr. (b. June 13, 1970 in Columbia, South Carolina) is an American jazz trombonist, composer, and educator. As an undergraduate at South Carolina State University, he played with Marcus Roberts, and later completed a Master of Arts degree at Eastern Illinois University.[1] Westray began playing in the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra upon its inception in 1993 and has been a regular member of the Mingus Big Band. [2] In 2005 he joined the faculty of the University of Texas at Austin.
