Ron Tschetter

Ronald A. Tschetter (born October 4, 1941 in Huron, South Dakota) is the 17th and current Director of the Peace Corps. Tschetter and his wife Nancy volunteered with the Peace Corps in India from 1966 to 1968. He was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on September 13, 2006 and was sworn in on September 26, 2006.

Tschetter is the third returned Peace Corps volunteer to serve as director. He served on the National Peace Corps Association board from 1993 to 1999, as board chairman from 1995 to 1998 and as an honorary board member from 2000 to 2003.

Prior to his appointment Tschetter was the President of D.A. Davidson & Co., the largest full-service investment firm based in the Northwest. He earned a bachelor's degree from Bethel University in psychology and social studies.
