[edit] Removal of unsourced or poorly sourced contentious material
I removed some contentious commentary, per the instructions outlined in the "Remove unsourced or poorly sourced contentious material" section of WP:LIVING. Please note that editors who re-insert the material may be warned and blocked. - Itsfullofstars 12:33, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Self-reference article
Most of the statements in this article, other than Mr. Romanne's wins at several pageants, rely on statements on sites written by Mr. Romanne himself on his profiles. This is a problem, as these are generally not considered reliable sources by Wikipedia. Does anyone have more third-party, published references for this article? [edit] Date of birth.
Romanne's DOB has previously been given in the article as both October 4, 1981[1] and April 22, 1981[2]. However, the information on his age in third-party documentation[3] states that he was 27 in early 2003, which means he was born in 1976 or late 1975. (They are two of the participants in Mister Tourism World 2003, an event to be celebrated in Guatemala next 25th of April. They are Antonio Paz, representative of Mexico, 24 years, and Rome Romanne, representative of the United States, 27 years.)" I've updated the article to reflect this citation. I believe this shows that we must find firm references for everything in the article, since WP:RS demands it, and since one of the pieces of information in the article was definitely wrong - and had been wrong twice.
