Talk:Roman governors of Brittania
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The current title for this article is inaccurate. Britannia was the name of the province from AD 43 to c. 213. After that there were two provinces, called Britannia Superior and Britannia Inferior. Then further subdivisions into Maxima Caesariensis, Valentia, Britannia Prima, Britannia Secunda and Flavia Caesariensis. Only some of the people listed here were governors of Britannia. we do not know which provinces some ruled at all and so a geographical term like Britain is preferable to a political one.
Also, because Britannia has several other meanings on the wiki, we have used an English name for it, this is reflected in the category name for the governors and the articles on the history and invasion of the region. I see no reason to call this article Roman governors of Brittania. adamsan 21:27, 1 December 2005 (UTC)
- It's not spelt properly either. I'm going to move it again as I really don't think the editor who moved this first is fully informed on the subject. adamsan 21:46, 1 December 2005 (UTC)
