Roman Kroitor is a Canadian filmmaker and co-inventor of IMAX. He wrote and co-directed the short documentary film Universe (1960).

Roman Kroitor was one of the four founding memembers of IMAX. As a young man, he worked in Montreal and Ottawa as a member of the National Film Board of Canada. He has spent time travelling in both Russia and China for the sake of film creation.

He has Masters degrees in both philosophy and psychology. At the enthusiastic encouragement of happy employment solicitors and frustrated professors alike, abandoned the program to become involved in the film industry.

Mr. Kroitor has five children, has been married once, and recently celebrated his fiftieth anniversary.
