Roman Catholicism in the Falkland Islands

The Catholic Church in the Falkland Islands is part of the worldwide Catholic Church, under the spiritual leadership of the Pope and curia in Rome.
There are no dioceses in the islands, but it forms an apostolic prefecture. There are over 230 Catholics in the Falkland Islands, approximately 10% of the total population. The superior of the prefecture is Father Michael McPartland who was appointed in 2002. [1]. Mass is also celebrated at RAF Mount Pleasant [2]

St Mary's Catholic Church is the one Catholic Church on the Falkland Islands, St Mary's in Ross Road, Stanley. It was blessed in 1899. On the west wall is a "pictorial history" of the Catholic Church in the Falkland Islands by the local artist James Peck.
