As well as excelling in music, Romanies have a rich poetic tradition that records their lives, experiences and outlooks.
Traditionaly, these peoms are passed down orally, as is much of their traditions, but some have made it to print, and many to international acclaim.
Further to this, has been poems witten about the Roma by non Roma, promonent in this field is Paul Polansky whose books record the Holocaust and the more recent scandal of the Kosovo Roma IDP Camps.
