[edit] Albums template

This template is based on the former Template:The Rolling Stones but excludes everything except albums. As it is rather big, I suggest it be used only on the albums pages themselves. ProhibitOnions 19:53, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

But this has exactly the same problem as the old template - it's ridiculously big. Except now the album articles will have two templates at the bottom instead of one. I don't see the need for this when we've already got category:The Rolling Stones albums and The Rolling Stones discography. Flowerparty 03:50, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
The category doesn't show the year or tell what kind of album it is, and it isn't displayed on the same page. I've made this smaller by trimming a few things and getting rid of some line breaks that were in there needlessly. The real "problem" is that the Stones have been recording for a long time, but that makes the template more useful. But better to restrict it to just the album pages where it can be used for navigation. Regards, ProhibitOnions 20:28, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

I still don't like this template. Would you object to merging the main albums back in with {{The Rolling Stones}} (in the current style of {{the Beatles}}). Either way, I feel one template is better than two. Flowerparty 00:44, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

The only problem is the larger number of Stones albums. If we merged the two and put the albums under a hide/show section, that might be the best solution. Whaddya think?  ProhibitOnions  (T) 22:03, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

I think the albums should be integrated to main infobox similarly as it is with Beach Boys and Beatles (who both have also rather large discographies). The studio albums should be a part of the main infobox, the lives, compilations etc. should have their own.
