The RollerCoaster Tycoon book series was released in 2002, the same year the RollerCoaster Tycoon BoardGame and the RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 computer game were released. The books are based on the RollerCoaster Tycoon Computer game.

While the books do not have a storyline, they are pick-your-paths, and have "more than 18 possible outcomes" for each book. They are written by different authors as well. The books and their authors are listed below:

  • Book 1 - Sudden Turn - by Shane Breaux
  • The Players: Marty and Megnolia Butterfield, two siblings, heirs of a multi-million dollar fortune.
  • The Game: Choose the themeing. Build the rides. Make the best theme park ever.
  • The Goal: To become a RollerCoaster Tycoon!
  • Book 2 - Sabotage! - by Shane Breaux
  • The Friends: Max and Jason.
  • The Problem: Weird stuff is happening at Jason's dad's theme park.
  • The Question: Can you help Max and Jason track down who did it?
  • Book 3 - The Great Coaster Contest - by Tracey West
  • The Contest: Inside a theme park, a contest of wits, teamwork, and endurance.
  • The Prize: Tons of cash and free admission.
  • The Teams: Three groups, all strangers. Can they forget their differences and work together?
  • Book 4 - Kidnapped! - by Larry Mike Garmon
  • The Victim: The creator of the world's biggest theme park, Meredith Erving.
  • The Detectives: Meredith's niece and nephew, Traci and Michael.
  • The Stakes: Five million dollars
  • Book 5 - Haunted Park - by Katherine Noll
  • The Kids: Carlos, Hanna, and Jake
  • The Legend: You can still hear screams coming from the theme park after it's closed.
  • The Dare: To remain in the park overnight
  • Book 6 - Spaced Out! - by Bobbi Weiss and David Weiss
  • The Park: Kosmos, an newly opened park with a space theme.
  • The Rumor: Aliens are at the park.
  • The Question: Do aliens exist?
