[edit] Welcome!

Hi, Rogue Gremlin , and Welcome to Wikipedia!

Welcome to Wikipedia!   I hope you enjoy the encyclopedia and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the simplified ruleset. Of the many ways to get help on Wikipedia, I personally recommend our wiki-boot camp, where you can chat online with fellow Wikipedians willing to help, or see some of the resources on WP:Wc!

Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have, on [[User talk:{{{2}}}|my talk page]] - I'm happy to help.

Here are some more resources to help you as you explore and contribute to the world's largest encyclopedia...

Warning

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Rather than reverting, discuss disputed changes on the talk page. The revision you want is not going to be implemented by edit warring. Thank you. Jkelly 19:49, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

User:Dalbury is an experienced editor, and does not get the courtesy of a warning. If he breaks the WP:3RR he will be blocked without any warning. Jkelly 20:02, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Hello again. You seem to have very strong feelings about how Wikipedia should work. It doesn't make sense to act as if how you think Wikipedia should work is how Wikipedia actually works. Community standards, guidelines and policy have been developed by the community over the last few years, and a lot of thought has gone into them. If you think Wikipedia should work differently, you can discuss your ideas at the Wikipedia:Village pump. I recommend, however, that, if you'd like to contribute here, you take the time to get more familiar with what we expect in terms of things like referencing (see Wikipedia:Attribution), fixing articles (see Wikipedia:Be bold in updating pages), and biographies (see Wikipedia:Biographies of living people). At the bottom of every edit page we say "If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly or redistributed by others, do not submit it.", and we really mean it. Jkelly 20:21, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

What is the dispute between you and User:Dalbury here anyway? When I look at your edits, I see you blanking several paragraphs on the subject which appears properly sourced, and including a totally unsourced paragraph instead. The discussion on the talk page, however, is totally devoted to what seems to be an understandable problem about where the subject was born or grew up, since we have sources conflicting. It is hard to see any "dispute" to be resolved; if someone introduces unsourced material and removes sourced material, that is a bad edit and would be reverted by any experienced editor. When we have reliable sources conflicting, we describe the contradiction without taking sides on the issue. Jkelly 20:58, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
Okay, that's a pretty clear explanation of the "place of birth disagreement", which we seem to be already mentioning in our article appropriately. As I said, when reliable sources conflict, we indicate that without taking sides. This kind of conversation should probably go back to Talk:Burt Reynolds, given that we're discussing the content of the article. Jkelly 21:47, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
You know some of us here are busy enough that it took all this time to get back and paste in the welcome tag above. On the other hand, that my previous post, and that of others is missing isn't really tolerated here either. Many of us do consider that vandalism, as the talk pages especially are the corporate records of our joint enterprise. So taking down those posts is much like a manager burning the books... totally uncool. Sorry I was so blunt, but you need to learn many things, particularly about dealing with other people of serious intent. Many of us sacrifice to spend time on this project. Think on that. In the meanwhile, in spite of speaking plainly, I'm also on the welcome committee and quite willing and glad to help you when you need information or opinions. Good luck, // FrankB 06:56, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

If you truly think me blanking MY own page is like me burning books in MY bookstore, which i can do if i want to cause it is my own personal bookstore. What about all the validated and verified stuff that was deleted from the page in question, That is as if he went in a PUBLIC bookstore and burned books, but ya'll don't care about that. You just want to come around acting like a jerk. And please DO NOT come back to my talk page with a "welcome mat" AFTER you just got through acting like the fool that you did, Thanks Rogue Gremlin 20:20, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

I'm not trying to revert war with you, but please don't include 10+ sources for a single statement, or, for that matter, include your signature in the article. Thanks! Shadow1 (talk) 20:48, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Just in case there is any confusion about this remaining, signatures don't go in articles, just on discussion pages. Jkelly 21:10, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Big Ego

Your "citations" are already there, how many times does the same information have to be cited. It's duplication, and about your "Big Ego". Unbelievable!!! Lugnut215 23:21, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

  • With apologies to the visually impaired, but are you BLIND. They are in the "Notes" section. And again his date of birth is already in the intro, at the top. Wow! Lugnut215 00:48, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

I'm not vandalizing anything, I'm trying to improve it, without your constant duplications of the same information over and over again. Your defintion of neutral, is whatever YOU decide it is. I blank MY discussion page, because of your constant lies and hypocrisy, and you were writing on MY user page, changing things for your ongoing Big Ego. And lastly, calling me a moron, and hiding your user name, and then say that I do it, is totally digusting. Lugnut215 21:56, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

  • And as for coming out of hiding, I guess I just don't have the time to get on the computer every single day, like apparently you do. Lugnut215 22:41, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
