Since it appears to be an ongoing issue... the archive has some discussion about Rogue's name (and whether or not it should appear in this article). If the subject comes up again, which seems likely, it might be worth reading through that for some background. --Mrph 19:06, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Is he actually a member of THE DuPonts? As in, these guys? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Du_Pont_family If that's the case, it should definitely be mentioned with more clarity in the intro paragraph, and he should be listed on that page as well (he's not at the moment). Or are we talking about a different DuPont family here? ~~Baligant

I just received a message from someone saying that if I continue to edit his profile to take his name out of it that it will be considered vandalism. You know what, I consider it protecting the rights and privacy of someone who would do the same for anyone else and I will continue to edit it. He may not have actually come to this site and said that he does not want his name known but he has repeatedly stated that he wishes to keep his name out of things to protect his family. It comes down to this, Rogue is a good person who has made conscious effort to keep his birth name out of the public eye for the protection of his family. To violate that desire is not only to put his family in a position that he does not want them in, but it is just plain inconsiderate and vindictive. Honestly, respect his desires and move on with your lives. It hurts no one to leave his name out, but it does to include it.

Well, except it is a matter of public record that's been sourced repeatedly. And clearly it's pretty public knowledge, as it seems like everybody editing this page knows it. And I'm not exactly sure how it "protects his family." Nor am I sure how it's a secret, since it's plastered all over the BMI and ASCAP databases. Perhaps if you heard the stories of how random people show up on his doorstep and how he wants to avoid his family being known to avoid them receiving the same harrasment. You do not consider that trying to protect his family? How would you feel if you suddenly became well known and found out your family was suffering because of it? Ariadne of Solus

Seeing as he's a member of one of the wealthiest families in America, my guess is that they're not exactly receiving a huge amount of new attention. Quite frankly, the DuPonts are a good deal more famous than the league singer of a goth band. Phil Sandifer 03:43, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

I never heard of them before I knew of The Crüxshadows. People do not respect people anymore, that is one of the biggest problems with today's society. Everyone is so egocentric that they step all over everyone else just to serve their own selfish purposes. studione 16:10, 2 February 2007 (UTC).

In any case, this seems somewhat beyond the considerations of Wikipedia - we publish verifiable information. We have verifiable information, and more to the point it's relevant information - knowing Rogue's family background offers new perspectives on his music. And it's information that would be readily available to any stalker already, since it's in the BMI/ASCAP databases. I have not been on the internet since February 1st. I am a student and only get to use the computers at school. I guess I can add easy assumptions to the list of short-comings of the mods here at wikipedia. No wonder no respectable formal institution will allow use of wikipedia as a source. BACK inthe 90s Rouge used to get strange phone calls from people who read his name on the inside of the album cover... I don;t remeber strange people showing up on his doorstep. Back then you could've just gone to his goth night or 80s night if you really wanted to meet him. Then we'd go to IHOP or village inn afterwards and socialize. It wasn't hard to meet him. Reading the archives, people have been having the same argument about this article since 2004.

Reading Wiki's very own policy on biographies of living persons (yeah, that one with the link up there ^ , go read that and come back), and looking at the other articles on performers using stage names, it pretty much comes down to this:

Rogue's legal name is publically available and it doesn't take a private investigator to find it out.

If there is going to be an article on Wiki about Rogue, it's going to include his legal name unless Rogue specifically requests otherwise, which he hasn't to the best of anyone's knowledge. (Yes, he has stated in public he prefers to not have people know his legal name, but he hasn't told Wiki to cease & desist AFAIK)

The fact that Rogue comes from a Well Known Family adds interest - kinda like if he was a Kennedy or a Windsor.

So... if you don't want to see Rogue's legal name on Wiki, it would probably be more effective to contact Rogue and have him do something about it than to keep vandalising the article.

I didn't know that Rogue was born in Charlottesville. Is there a source for this? I don't recall him mentioning anything about it last time he performed there, and he addressed the crowd at length. --Halloween jack 18:12, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
