The History of Roger Ludlowe
The school is named after Roger Ludlowe, the founder of Fairfield, CT.
Roger Ludlowe Middle School opened as the third middle school in Fairfield in 1998. It started with 6th and 7th grades, and then 8th grade was added the following year.
Our founding 6th and 7th graders voted on the team colors which are black and gold. They also chose our present mascot, the Ludlowe Bulldog.
In August of 2003 Roger Ludlowe Middle School moved to a brand new building right next to our original site. The original site is now the location of the second Fairfield High School.Roger Ludlowe,[1]
