Roe Messner
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Roe Messner (b. Ronald Roe Messner) is an American religious writer and building contractor. He married Tammy Faye Bakker in 1993, after her very public divorce from Jim Bakker. He co-authored Building For The Master: By Design (ISBN 0-940609-00-2).
He founded the now bankrupt Wichita, Kansas-based church builder, Messner Construction, the contractor that built most of Heritage USA and many other church buildings. He calls himself a "Master Builder" on his website (see below) and has gone back to building churches in his current North Carolina-based business, Commercial Builders & Architects, Inc. of Charlotte, North Carolina.
From 1996 to 1999, Mesner served time in prison after being convicted on bankruptcy fraud charges.
Tammy Faye has inoperable lung cancer, and Roe was diagnosed with prostate cancer years ago, but it is unclear what medical treatment he received, since, according to one source in the tabloid press, he didn't have health insurance at the time.
