[edit] Style

Hi Roda, I must admit I prefer last name listings in the track listings, and I'm going to leave them that way. The Project Albums suggestions for "long name, first time appeared", do result in a overly fussy page. Alf 17:27, 13 July 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for your comment. It's easy when they're all on my shelf next to my computer.Alf 18:01, 13 July 2005 (UTC)
Thanks also for tidying up some of the fall out, particularly the dates, I must have been getting tired and edit-blind. Snake Bite Love's next album though, we've already got live albums and complilations mixed into the chronology. The 'style guide' says not usually to include either, so I 'll leave your edit as it is, tho' I'm not sure I can handle four compilation albums in a row. Alf 09:21, 14 July 2005 (UTC)

Having no particular authority, I, Alf, award you, Roda, with a Snaggletooth Award for correcting my sometimes shoddy work on the Motörhead albums. Alf 12:01, 14 July 2005 (UTC)

We've recently had a major purge on the use of fair use images in user space, so I'm changing this to one a picture of some old discs I have lying around ;) - before someone else just removes it without replacing with something more appropriate. --Alf melmac 11:05, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Eddie

Hi Roda, as you've noticed, I've put up Eddie Clarke, the title line is fine, but I'm stumped to give him another couple of "he's influenced culture by" stuff for the next few sentences (before his Career starts). Would you like to add something in here? Alf 21:30, 15 July 2005 (UTC)

I don't know what to add. - Roda,10:24, 16 July 2005 (UTC)
That's fine, the singles each have an entry now, if you'd like to cast your eyes over for any slips I've made, I'd appreciate it. Alf 17:33, 25 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Motörhead (song; live) Ace of Spades (song; live)

This received a redirect, rearranged pictures, without waking my up to why, removed the original lyrics from the song article and messed it up (same author did same to Ace of Spades live song single). I unmerged it, - the same person has put BOTH up for VfD!. Please assist with a votes to keep. Alf 11:27, 13 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Hi

Nice to see you about, is the BBC Sessions already in the shops, will have to get myself an early Christmas pressie if it is. Alf melmac 20:02, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

Don't konw if it's in the shops, but you can find it on Amazon.com. Roda 20:13, 18 December 2005 (UTC)
Thanks, I'll have a hunt on Monday. Top notch news! Alf melmac 20:16, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

I note your comment on the MH talk page, you're right, by comparison, the history section nowhere near does justice at present, I copied it here and put in hidden notes, if you want to check/add/suggest it's here Alf melmac 22:44, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

Season's Greetings, I've changed the above link as I've given the band a sub page of my user space for me to work on a gig and events list, feel free to use the history section for your re-write. --Alf melmac 14:08, 24 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Lemmy Kilmister.jpg

Warning sign
This image may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Lemmy Kilmister.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairusein|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ~MDD4696 05:43, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Possibly unfree Image:Enterprise-D.jpg

An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:Enterprise-D.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. Please go to its page to provide the necessary information on the source or licensing of this image (if you have any), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

--Sherool (talk) 00:16, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for clearing that up. Unfortunately seeing as our rules doesn't allow unfree (aka "fair use images") to be used on userpages or templates (see Wikipedia:Fair use#Fair use policy) I had to remove it from the star trek userbox it was used in. Note that fair use images that are not used in any articles will eventualy get deleted without warning. If you find some kind of free licensed Star Trek related image (like a photo of some star trek metchandise taken by yourself or someone who is willing to relese it under a free license) that would be perfectly fine to use for userboxes and whatever. --Sherool (talk) 12:15, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Burek.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Burek.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. [edit] Image Tagging Image:Motorhead-the classic line-up.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Motorhead-the classic line-up.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. [edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Some kind of minster (film).jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Some kind of minster (film).jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- moe.RON Let's talk | done 03:38, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
