Rodolfo Stavenhagen

Rodolfo Stavenhagen (b. 1932) is a Mexican sociologist. He is a professor-researcher at El Colegio de México, a former Deputy Director General of UNESCO, and the current United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of the human rights and fundamental freedoms of indigenous people. He was appointed to this position by the United Nations Commission on Human Rights in 2001 through Resolution 2001/57.[1]
