== RADIO ROMEO == Musicians, Music, Los Angeles 70's Retro-style Rock and Roll

Based in Los Angeles, the Rock 'n' Roll capital of the World, RADIO ROMEO's debut album was engineered and produced by the legendary Andy Johns himself (Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Van Halen etc., etc.), Basil Holly and co-engineered by Brandon Henegar. Featuring former and current professional musicians from the bands VIOLENT FEMMES, BODEANS, KIX and GOO GOO DOLLS, Radio Romeo's debut album has a strong emphasis on beat, melody and message in the tradition of bands in the 1970's. These were years of some of the greatest music ever, much of it arising from the effect of the socio-political turmoil and drastic changes incurred by the 1960's. During the 70's John Lennon began his long battle to obtain permission to stay permanently in America. "Hair" ends its Broadway run after 1,742 performances. David Bowie premieres his "Ziggy Stardust" character and tours the UK and US. Chuck Berry has his first and only number one hit "My-Ding-A-Ling." "American Pie" by Don McClean was the Number One Single of 1972. "America" by America was the Number One Album of 1972. The Rolling Stones released "Sticky Fingers" in 1971 followed by "Exile On Mainstreet" in May, 1972. In June,1972 Bowie released The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars". Ramones released "Ramones" in April, 1976 changing the landscape of music forever followed by the Sex Pistols with their "Never Mind the Bullocks. Radio Romeo is the retro epitomy of that tradition and more in the vein of the Rolling Stones in the 70's (hence their choice of Producer Andy Johns). Songs range in content from politcal "King of the Night" to romantic "Like a Lion" and one of particular interest which seems to be an ode to the poet Alan Ginsberg, "Without Dreams". I hope that you enjoy the Radio Romeo album as much as this writer did.
