As it stands, this page seems awfully promotional, almost like an ad. -- Jmabel | Talk 06:12, July 10, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Flavor

Just because I felt like trying something different, I went to pick up some energy drinks and I grabbed a can of Rockstar. I searched the can for any indications of what flavor I should expect, but it didn't mention anything. So I went here hoping that it would mention what flavor I had bought, sill didn't mention anything. So I figured I'd describe the flavor, and maybe somebody can work it into the article. Anyway, I'd describe the flavor [of the origional, in the black can] like liquid nerds [which is really just condensed sugar with artifical fruit flavors], really tangy and kind of sweet, but it's got a sour aftertaste, then after a minute or two it tastes like you just ate a box of nerds. [edit] Ingredients

Carbonated water, [high fructose corn syrup]], glucose, critic acid, taurine, natural and artifical flavors, sodicum citrate, caffeine, caramel color, benzoic acid, sorbic acid, L-carnitine, inositol, niacinamide, calcium pantothenate, milk thistle extract, ginko biloba leaf extract, guarana seed extract, panax ginseng root extract, riboflavin, pyridoxine hydrochloride, cyanocobalamin. ARBlackwood 00:02, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Warning Label

[found on can next to barcode, in bold red print, but very small for some reason.] "Not recommended for children, pregnant or nursing women, or those sensitive to caffeine." ARBlackwood 00:02, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] A Note

No mention in the article that in Canada, Rockstar is distributed and being promoted by Coca-Cola, alongside Full Throttle. Roby0215 13:40, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sorry, I just really like it.

Perhaps it sounds a bit enthusiastic, but hey? I *am* a really big fan of their products. I wrote everything there (past the horribly inaccurate stub), so I can tell you that it's not astroturfing or anything like that. I tried to cull any non-factual information (so as to avoid making it sound too promo-esque). Are there any specific areas you'd like to see re-vamped? --boinger 14:01, 13 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Good stuff

  • The current article seems impartial to me, though I have to admit, I am a huge fan, too. It seems popular, too, selling out in many stores while Red Bull's 4-packs get a little dusty. Not that there's anything wrong with the original energy soda pioneer. (Who thought it would take over a decade or so to combine the Jolt cola concept with the Japanese vitamin-soda concept?) I love Red Bull too, but Rockstar has a similar tasty tartness (which I now prefer over the Bull, though probably caffeine addition created a Pavlov-esque response), delivers quite a bit more bang for the buck, and has a more impressive vitamin/herbal roster. Not to mention any other non-Red Bull/Rockstar drink I’ve tried tastes awful, as if they are trying to get away from soda-pop stereotypes to differentiate themselves on the market. The result means flavors that range from "Fermented Leftover Halloween Candy" to "Sugar, Fruit, and Laundry Soap."
Bawls tastes much better. More like a Sprite type beverage. --Chan-Ho 17:38, 1 November 2005 (UTC)
  • If you like Red Bull and Rockstar, and are looking for an alternative to beer, see if they have "Sparks" in your area. Very tasty energy drink with caffeine, vitamins, and herbals, plus it's 6% alcohol! Durty Willy 03:25, 29 July 2005 (UTC)
  • I love Rockstar energy drinks. I have to admit that I didn't know about it until I heard Michael Savage talking about it (I'm a big fan of Michael's). So I said "What the hell...I'll try it out." Whoa....let me tell you...this stuff really picks you up. Kudos to Russ Weiner for a job well done. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.35.15.107 (talkcontribs) 07:44, May 30, 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Substantiation re Michael Savage claim

Now please stop reverting it. http://www.sfweekly.com/issues/2001-04-11/news/feature_3.html —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ben-w (talkcontribs) 22:57, July 30, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] This question may seem stupid but I'm still curious.

I was wondering if, Russell Goldencloud Weiner is in any part related to Rockstar Video Game company as well as the drink company. The actual article about Rockstar game mentions nothing of the individuals who devolped the company so I really couldn't find anything out from here. I'm googling it right now but since I'm at a public school they block almost anything to do with video games because "Violence" and "Naughty Words" are bad and cause "A surge in youth violence" so I probally won't discover anything before then. So please post if you know. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.144.44.21 (talkcontribs) 15:08, December 14, 2005 (UTC)

I too am curious if this beverage company is affiliated with the software developer. --NEMT 17:19, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nope.

ROCKSTAR Energy Drink is not affiliated with the video game. There is a mutual agreement in place that the video game company will not manufacture energy drinks and the energy drink company will not start to produce software.
