[edit] The name Camel

I thought the name Camel came form the cornish for crooked (Cam) estuary (hayle). Not cornish for elbow as the article states. Could an expert clear this up? --Benjaminevans82 21:46, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

"A Dictionary of English Place-Names", OUP, 1991, gives Camel (the river) as a "Celtic river-name (possibly 'crooked one' from a derivative of Celtic *camm)". DuncanHill 08:08, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
