Rockway Middle School

Rockway Middle School is a middle school located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, USA. Rockway Middle has been an A+ school since 2000 and has placed first in the county for attendance. Their chess team has won 9th, 12th, and 15th place in the 2006 Nationals event in Kentucky and have ranged from 1st place every year at States and now this year at Regionals. The school has over 10,000 students.

The school has a wide variety of electives and classes ranging from band to home-economics to tv production, and more.

Every year the school has big activities like "brown and gold" the years biggest football game and "food fest". The school can be considered a chess magnet.

A new building has been added along with a new color scheme.

The school has a mandatory uniform policy that is strictly enforced but is often obeyed and followed. The uniform is khaki pants, belt, closed toe shoes, and either a yellow, white, or a mix polo shirt. The shirts are to be tucked in at all times.

The school has installed camera's to stop food fight's and other serious disipline problems.The school had many fight's and most go on by an icecream truck that is parked about 1 block away from the school.The amount of "girl fights" has gained in numbers since last year.Several small gangs have formed inside rockway and are in relation with coral park senior high.The most known gang is L.M.G which stands for latin miami gangsters.
