[edit] Plot

Rocko is starving and flat broke, having only $3 dollars to his name. He sees an ad for a 99%-off sale at the local supermarket, so he tries to make it there in time to take advantage of the sale. In the process, he is injured many times and almost loses Spunky to another customer when he is accidentally packaged and put in the meat section. Filburt, then a nameless character, is so slow at running the register, he causes Rocko to miss the sale by a mere second. A furious Rocko threatens him if he doesn't change the total back to the amount from the sale. Rocko and Spunky head home but their groceries spill out of the trunk when he hits a speed bump.

[edit] Notes, Goofs, and Trivia

  • This is the 2nd time Rocko meets up with the Hippo Lady and is sent flying after a "HOW DARE YOU!"
  • After the red guys head bursts for about until the rest of the show it sounds like a regular shopping cart dispite that in the beginning due to its 2 missing wheels it made a screaching sound when moved.

[edit] Quotes

  • Filburt: Price check on . . . frog butter.
Store Announcer: Hey, is frog butter in dairy or hygiene?
  • Rocko: You know, Spunky, sometimes, grocery day can be a very dangerous day.

[edit] Plot

Rocko and Spunky plan to attend the WWWWF Wrestling Main Event, but Rocko comes down with a bad cold the next day. He is taken by Heffer to the hospital where he is given an unnecessary prostate exam by an incompetent and insane doctor named Dr. Bendova. His prescription is a huge pill that he wasn't supposed to swallow, but he did anyway, since he didn't read the fine print "Not to be taken orally". Rocko begins to feel even more ill and rushes to the bathroom to vomit. As Rocko tries to get his bearings from vomiting, a talking wedge of cheese, hot dog, and slice of pizza emerge from the toilet and set out to cure Rocko of his cold. Their strange methods fail until they give him a mixture of extremely hot and spicy condiments. The mixture was so spicy that even a single drop was enough to make Rocko go ballistic and breathe fire everywhere, even immolating a kitchen chair. He chases after the foods but discovers that his cold is gone, thanks to the hot sauce working everything out of him. He thanks the foods as they go back down the toilet. The next day, Spunky comes down with Rocko's cold. Rocko gives Heff their tickets and tells him to enjoy the match. Heffer declares that he knows who to take. Later, Rocko and Spunky watch the event on TV, and see Heffer with the nurse from the hospital, and Dr. Bendova is a contender in the event. The nurse yells that she strapped Dr. Bendova to his bed, and proceeds to pound the living daylights out of him, much to everyone's enjoyment.

[edit] Notes, Goofs, and Trivia

  • The "WWWWF Wrestling Main Event" is a parody of WWF, now called WWE, when the company was called "WWWF". The "Wrestling Main Event" part is a parody to the NBC show, Saturday Night's Main Event.
  • The WWWWF stands for "The Wild World of Wacky Wrestling Federation."
  • Rocko's tickets for the Main Event say W.W.W.W.W.F. (5 W's) but through the entire episode it's referred to as the W.W.W.W.F. (4 W's).
  • When the pizza, hotdog, and cheese are mixing the hot sauce they mix it with a metal spoon. When the stirrer takes the spoon out the bottom part is melted off. Then they take a eye dropper and put some of the hot sauce in it.
  • The end credits erroneously credit Linda Wallem performing Virginia Wolfe, although she does not appear in these episodes. It could be referring to the large nurse she voices in Flu-In-U-Enza.
  • The term "Enchanted Upchucks"(the name of the three magical pieces of food) came to creator Joe Murray when he watched "Beauty and the Beast" with his niece, Nichole Poinski(given writing credits). Poinski mistakenly called the "Enchanted Objects" from the movie the "Enchanted Upchucks", inspiring this episode's wacky, talking, regurgitated food.

[edit] Quotes

  • Rocko: Heffer, thanks for taking me to the doctor.
Heffer: I wouldn't miss it for the world. These waiting rooms are real freak shows.
