The Rockford RiverHawks are a minor league baseball team which plays in Loves Park, Illinois, a suburb of Rockford. The team is a member of the Independent Frontier League, and is associated with no Major League Baseball team. They are the 2004 League Champions.
The team plays at RiverHawks Stadium.
The RiverHawks franchise was relocated from the Springfield (Illinois) Capitals to Rockford in 2002.
Before that, the team was in Portsmouth, OH as the Portsmouth Explorers.
The Rockford RiverHawks (including years as Portsmouth and Springfield) are currently tied with the Florence Freedom (including years as Erie and Johnstown) for the most league championships with three a-piece.
