Rockdale is an unincorporated community located in Boyd County, Kentucky. It is located near the intersection of Kentucky Route 538 and the US 60 corridor into the city of Ashland.

Rockdale is a part of the Huntington-Ashland, WV-KY-OH, Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). As of the 2000 census, the MSA had a population of 288,649.
