Rock of Ages Prison Ministry is a Bible-based program helping inmates study God's Word. Their ministries to prisoners began in 1977,when Dr. Ron Gearis, who supplied sermon audio tapes to missionaries, started bringing the preaching tapes to a Florida prison. He realized these men needed the Lord, and his church got involved. At the request of the prison chaplains, they started holding services, supplying Bibles, Tapes and players, concordances, Bible dictionaries, and holding Bible studies. Soon, they were serving in prisons all over Florida, and surrounding states. Now the ministry has spread further than the U.S., into Asia, Europe, and North and South America. They currently offer programs including revivals, aftercare, juvenile and military ministries, a publication ministry, prison prevention, and a discipleship institute. Their motto is 2 Corinthians 4:5, " For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake."
