[edit] Degrees and awards

Which universities did she attend, and in what year did she receive each of her degrees? What awards has she won for her writing? These questions should be answered in the article. --TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 00:53, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

  • working on it, am trying to find the book Kids have you seen my back-pack which cronicles her 20 years of University education.

[edit] Notabilty

I am getting a lot of heat regarding notability of subject. My focus on notability is mostly on her being the editor of the ezine Kafenio, a web pioneer, as explained in the first line. She also did everything else and was noted for other work. Still the bottom of the line (for me) is Kafenio. Rough 23:42, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Reliable sources

How much more reliable the the Australian Broadcasting Co and the Canadian GlobeandMail do you want? I think your using of the Notability tag is hitting on new editors, especially as there are sources being added constantly. Naem 213.42.21.78 20:20, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

You're missing the point. This article is about Ms Jacobson, not about that book. Our policy on demonstrating notability says (amongst other things) "The person has been the primary subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the person." Those two reviews are of a single 200 page paperback book containing a collection of essays from a number of professional writers, one of them being Jacobson. The reviews (which I did read) DO NOT demonstrate Ms Jacobson's notability in any way.
I have no intention of analysing every book that she has contributed to, but that (forgive me if I'm wrong) she does not appear to have authored a single book in her own name, says something surely.
As for "hitting on new editors", I take offense to that comment as I regularly go out of my way to encourage and help new writers, moreso that most long term editors here I suspect. Appropriate use of edit tags is one way of helping educate new editors and encouraging conformity with WP policies.
On the other hand, your contribution history to Wikipedia, based on the various vandalism warnings on your user page suggests you should tidy up your own backyard before accusing others of bad faith. — Moondyne 13:30, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
