Robert M. (Bob) Wiles is President of the Board of Trustees for Jefferson Township, in Ross County, Ohio.
On the morning of May 29, 2006, Wiles allegedly shot the mother of his great-granddaughter three times, and then turned the gun on himself. Both Wiles and the woman, Kim McNeil survived their injuries.
Wiles continues to serve in his elected position despite the incident. Charges of Attempted Murder and Felonious Assault are still pending.
