Robert Thomas (28 September 1927–3 January 1989) was a French writer, actor and film director.

Several of his plays were later filmed, including Catch Me If You Can and 8 femmes.

He died in 1989 in Gap, Hautes-Alpes, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France.
