Robert T. Monagan

Robert Timothy Monagan, Jr. (born 1920) was a California politician, who was Speaker of the California State Assembly from 1969-1970. He served in the California State Assembly, representing the 12th district from 1960 until 1973. He was replaced as Speaker of the Assembly by Bob Moretti of the 42nd district. Prior to his time in the State Assembly, Monagan served as Mayor and and as a city councilman in the city of Tracy. There is a portion of the I-205 which runs through Tracy which is named after him.
Monagan currently serves on the Board of Regents at the University of the Pacific, in Stockton, CA.
