Robert Staughton Lynd

Robert Staughton Lynd (1892 - 1970) was an American sociologist. Born in New Albany, Indiana, he is best known for writing Middletown: A Study in Contemporary American Culture (1929) and Middletown in Transition (1937). These works are known as classics of American sociology.
He was the father of the activist Staughton Lynd.
