Robert Pattinson School

Robert Pattinson School is a school in North Hykeham, Lincolnshire, UK. It has around 1500 students and is a specialist school in three areas: it is a language, science and mathematics college. It became a self-governing school in 1992 and has links with schools around the world including the Czech Republic, the USA, Germany, South Africa, France, Spain, Italy, Kenya, China, Russia.

The school has four houses, Windsor, Stuart, Tudor and York, who compete in sporting events throughout the year to attempt to win the Governors Cup. This is presented at Sports Day each year, which is traditionally held in the first week of July.

[edit] Recent Ofsted report

The recent Ofsted report described the standard of education as "Excellent", with "above average" standards at GCSE. Teaching was described as "Brilliant and powerfull". Provision in art, design and ICT is , however, and the governing body is "not sufficiently well informed to challenge the school and hold it to account". The school was praised for its international links, and for the enthusiasm with which pupils participate in sporting activities.The priminister quoted that "This is an excellent school and I wouldn't hesitate on taking my chilldren there"[citation needed]

1994 - New science block Opened by Sir Henry Nevile, Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire

1999 - Continued as a Self Governing School, converting to Foundation Status Beacon

2000 - The first 11 to 18 School in Lincolnshire to become a Beacon School

2001 - The first school in Lincolnshire to be appointed as a Specialist School for Languages

2002 - Language Suite Opened by HRH the Princess Royal

2003 - Achievement Award for Examination Performance

2003 - Listed as a Particularly Effective School by Ofsted (one of four such schools in Lincolnshire)

2004 - John Alexander Music Suite Opened

2005 - New technology suite Opened by Stewart Pattinson, grandson of Sir Robert Pattinson

2005 - Recognised as a High Performing Specialist School by the Department for Education and Skills.

2005 - Invited to consider a Second Specialism.

2006 - Appointed as a Language, Science and Mathematics College
