Robert Moodie

Lieutenant-Colonel Robert Moodie (1778—December 4, 1837) was a British–Canadian officer and soldier.
A native of Scotland, he served as an officer of the British army during the Napoleonic Wars and in Canada during the War of 1812, participating in the Battle of Lundy's Lane, the Siege of Fort Erie and Sackett's Harbour. He settled at Richmond Hill in 1835, and was fatally shot by supporters of William Lyon Mackenzie in the opening incidents of the Upper Canada Rebellion. He is buried at Holy Trinity Church, Thornhill, Ontario.
